HED Stinger 9 Flamme Rouge Tubular Front Wheel has gone through extensive wind tunnel and prototype testing which resulted in a rim shape design that lowers drag at all angles and a larger window of aerodynamic effectiveness. The Stinger 9 out performs every wheel that is less or even more than 90mm rim depth. The lateral stiffness has been increased, the cornering performance is superb and the Stinger 9 is built to withstand high impacts. Usually wheels that are this tough and stiff have a harsh ride but the 9 has an excellent ride quality that rivals any other wheel in it's class.

Looking at the wind tunnel drag data you will notice that the Stinger 9 now has a stall point of 14 degrees and drag numbers routinely go negative when testing the 9. This means that in light to medium winds the Stinger not only will give you more speed than any other wheel out there but will stay fast when other wheels begin to slow down. In the September 2010 issue of VeloNews Magazine the Stinger 9 beat (soundly) the "fastest" wheels from 5 of HED's competitors.
